Johan Rojas, Phillies Agree to Contract
720,000 Deal for One Year
In a move that bolsters their outfield depth, the Philadelphia Phillies have signed Johan Rojas to a one-year contract worth $720,000. The deal includes a $720,000 guarantee and an average annual salary of $720,000.
Rojas, 26, is a versatile outfielder who has played in the MLB for parts of three seasons. He has a career batting average of .276 with 13 home runs and 45 RBIs.
Bullpen Boost
In a separate move, the Phillies signed reliever Sam Coonrod to a one-year, $1.5 million contract. Coonrod, 29, has a career ERA of 3.18 in 145 appearances.
These signings are part of the Phillies' effort to finalize their roster for the 2023 season. The team is looking to rebound from a disappointing 2022 campaign in which they finished with a 65-97 record.
